One of the biggest Serbian prospect Vasilije Micic ('94), has  finally returned to the court after long-time recovery from ACL’s injury. In a friendly game against Partizan he scored 2 points.

The unlucky accident happened in a friendly match last November, when he suffered a serious knee injury and in effect due to complicated surgery in Germany had to miss almost whole last season. Fortunately Vasilije is very physically mature for his years, primarily because he was successful skier before he start playing basketball seriously, so the recovery went well.

6-5 tall point guard had a great 2010/2011 season, while being only 16-year old was a starting point guard in his club Mega Vizura that compete in the first division in Serbia and was averaging 8.5 points, 3.1 rebounds as well as 2.9 assists per game. Moreover, following summer he led the Serbian U18 team to the silver medal at the European Championship in Poland, although he was a year younger than the others. At that tournament talented playmaker was averaging 10.1 points, 4.2 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game, forming incredibly talented frontcourt duo with Nenad Miljenovic(’93).

Due to really long-time recovery, skilled point guard missed also this summer’s European Championship, where Serbia during his absence won bronze medal, winning in last game 66:56. This place gives Serbian national team auto-promotion to next year’s World Championship U19, which are going to be held in Czech Republic’s capital city, Prague.

Belgrade-native prospect is still current number 4 in our 1994-born ranking, however it is really hard to predict in what condition he will come back to the game.  One thing is certaint -despite fact that some top European clubs has shown interested in Micic, he is still member of Mega Vizura and is going to upcoming season in its uniform.
