On the first weekend of September (1-2.09) in small Catalan city Cornella de Llobregat was held annual tournament “Torneig Cadet Ciutat de Cornella”, where participated best U16 teams from region of Catalonia. Thanks to brilliant performance of top 1997-born European prospects Stefan Peno (’97) and Nedim Djedovic (’97) in big final Barcelona won 77:74 over Joventut Badalona.

As expected the tournament was easily dominated by two powerhouses, while cadets of ACB’s team FC Regal Barcelona and Joventut Badalona were out of reach. Nothing surprisingly that both teams faced each other in big final, where Joventut played missing Nenad Dimitrijevic (’98). Even during his absence Joventut was really close, losing only 74:77. Barcelona won thanks to brilliant performance by Stefan Peno (’97), who went for 18 points, 7 rebounds, 4 steals and 1 assist, while named MVP of the event Nedim Djedovic (’97) added 14 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists.
