Although it’s still not confirmed, seems that two biggest Serbian prospects from 1998 generations will likely move to Spain. Namely Bojan Nesic (’98) and Borisa Simanic (’98) have been targeted by Spanish powerhouses headed by FC Regal Barcelona and Caja Laboral Victoria.
Borisa Simanic (’98), on the pic, is 6-7 small forward, currently playing for Bosnian team Buducnost BN. He had been already tested by Caja Laboral Victoria in February 2012 during Minicopa finals. Although team from Basque Country lost 43:68 to Banca Civica in bronze medal game, Simanic finished the tournament as third best scorer and second best rebounder with averages of 15.3 points and 11.5 rebounds. According to our source Simanic has agreed all terms with Caja Laboral, however at the end of October he had a try-out in FC Regal Barcelona academy and it looks like Serbian forward will sign multi-year contract with Spanish powerhouse from season 2013/14.
Another Serbian talent, close to moving to Spain is Bojan Nesic (’98), on the video below. 6-2 point guard from Kris Kros had brilliant U15 National Championships of Serbia last year and was also targeted by Caja Laboral, however did not accept the offer of try-out. Since that time Nesic was offered to several Spanish teams and according to our source he is really close to sign a multi-year deal with CAI Zaragoza.
Thus Simanic as well as Nesic are going to join several Balkans prospects, who are already developing their skills in Spain. Here are some of them: Bosnian Nedim Djedovic (’97) in Barcelona, Macedonian Oliver Dvojakovski (’97) in Cajasol, Slovenian Luka Doncic (’99) in Real, Bosnian Sandro Gacic (’96) in Caja Laboral.
