Although Kevin Larsen (’93) is only freshman, Danish center is really important in up front rotation of George Washington. “The deciding factor was that I could go and have an impact from my first year, that were really attractive. the idea of me helping a team from a loosing team to a winning team caught my attention, so I just liked the opportunity this school gave me.” - he tells to Eurohopes.

Larsen, a native of Copenhagen, Denmark, is a 6-foot-10-inch forward who played at Montrose Christian the past two seasons. He helped the Mustangs to a 21-3 record and No. 14 national ranking in the final 2011-12 ESPNHS Powerade Fab 50 poll, averaging 8.2 points and 7.6 rebounds as a senior. "Kevin has the size and strength to be an inside presence on both ends of the court," said Coach Lonergan. "He is a great passer and a very unselfish player. He is fundamentally sound and should have an immediate impact on our program." So far Larsen is averaging 7.6 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 21.3 minutes per game.

Although you're a freshman, you have a significant role in your team's rotation. Are you happy about your role in the team?

- I have been injured for a while, so I think my role will grow bigger when I recover a 100%, but right now I'm pretty happy with the situation.

You're not the only international guy in George Washington. Does it mean anything to you? Is it easier to adjust to new environment having for instance Paris Maragkos in freshman class too?

- It have helped a lot, specially Patricio Garino(Argentina) and Paris have helped and we have already become like brothers. We go out to eat and go to the movies together, so it really helps a lot.

You had several scholarship offers from NCAA, so why did you decide to join George Washington?

- The deciding factor was that I could go and have an impact from my first year, that were really attractive, and the got some if the best assistant coaches like Kevin Sutton. And the idea of me helping a team from a loosing team to a winning team caught my attention, so I just liked the opportunity this school gave me.

You didn't play at last summer's European Championship U20. Do you think you will will be available for national team upcoming summer?

- Yes I will defiently play with my national team this year.
