The future stars of European basketball are in Budapest and Eurohopes is there to keep you updated on what is going on in the Vasas Cup 2013. During the opening day BC Sabonis showed all his potential with two solid victories against Vasas Academy and Stellazzurra Academy thanks to an extraordinary performance of big man Balciunas -at the pic- that ended the first game with 39 points (18/29 from 2) and 30 rebounds and driven by the point guard Arlauskas with 26 points and 7 rebounds in the match against the Italian team. Οn both games the Lithuanian team played a well organized basketball finding every time easy solutions inside the paint or open three points shots. For Stellazzurra Academy shined Laganà, brother of Under 20 gold medal Marco Laganà, brawny point guard with points in the hands and a good comprehension of the game; we have also seen goods moves from the serbian guard Rajacic. On the other side, the right handed guard Jankovic from Cibona Zagreb is the player with more growing margins; he has a skinny entangling body structure, soft hands, high IQ and the all the skills to be a very interesting prospect; always from Cibona we have to highlight the talent of the 6'2" polished power forward Mrksa. Without any doubt the most enjoyable basketball that we have seen was the Flash Beograd's run and shoot with Stojanovic, Music and Rakonjac that are perfect performers for fast transitions and fast breaks with the big man Ristic that works hard under the boards. Vasas Academy after a painful defeat against Sabonis in the first game, found the victory against Beograd thanks to his playmaker Somogyi that led with his leadership the whole team to an important come back in the last two quarters.
