Here we are in Santa Margherita Ligure where the EA7 Emporio Armani U16 International Tournament take place. The first game was between Real Madrid and the local team of Tigullio with the spanish team that after a complex first quarter took the lead of the game thanks to the impressive physical power of Samba Ndiaye Thiago (C, 201 cm, 1998) the big man coming from Senegal that was able to catch every defensive rebound with spectacular dunks on the other side of the court. In the paint Domagoj Proleta (C, 202 cm, 1998) makes the difference too, the Croatian kid maybe is not ready today but his upside is really impressive and he has the skills to become a very polite power forward. One man show Luka Doncic (PG, 194 cm, 1999) has the Vision, he is one year younger respect the others but he knows how things works in basketball: he has a great physical structure, perfect passage timing, penetration and a reliable jump shot from mid/long range and for sure he is in the Top 3 of European players of his generation. Nevertheless he showed that characteristic that affect all the young stars in basketball: he try to do the hardest thing every time he has the ball in his hand and this could be the only limit that could affect his illimitate talent.
In the second game of the day Stellazzurra Academy overcome Armani Junior Milano thanks to a solid performance from Davide Moretti (PG, 188 cm, 1998) that was a real dilemma for the Milano defense during the game. Moretti improved his offensive set from this summer with a reliable three point shot that was the key of the game against the Milano zone defense and furthermore his one on one in open spaces was a deadly weapon. Honorable mentions also for Dario Masciarelli (G, 193 cm, 1998) that is still an hybrid between a small forward and a guard but he has the moves and the physical characteristic of the new generation point guard with explosive skinny legs, impressive wingspan and a good shot mechanics from mid range.
In the second Group in Rapallo Montepaschi Siena easily defeated Olimpia Ljubiana thanks to the italian duo Santucci - Bucarelli meanwhile Partizan leaded by Sava Dukic won against Casalpusterlengo thanks to a great first quarter.
