There have been many good prospects coming out of Denmark the last few years, however if we look at the best Danish league (Basketligaen) we can still find great prospects there too. Many Danes are just waiting for an offer to get outside Denmark. The regular season in Denmark just finished and here’s a look on the prospects that performed very well throughout the season.

Sebastian Aaris Petersen (6’2” ’95) plays for the Eurochallenge team Bakken Bears. Sebastian played backup PG the whole season, and showed a great effort in his rookie year. Petersen has a nice jump shot and is good at finding the open man. Has a great basketball IQ and he could become a future Eurochallenge player if he continues developing. The Danish PG averaged 5,3 points per game in almost 14 minutes in the regular season.

Zarko Jukic (6’7” ’93) is the most athletic player in the ´93 generation here in Denmark. The athletic SF does a great job attacking the basket and is great to dunk in traffic. Jukic has showed a little piece of his improved ball-handling and played the PG position in few minutes this season. Jukic is also doing a nice job on the defensive end of the court with help from his great athleticism. However Zarko needs to improve his jump shot, he was only shooting 54,2% from the line in the regular season. This guy could become a key for any team at high level in the future, but he needs to travel outside Denmark soon. The athletic SF averaged 14,7 points, 6 rebounds, 1,5 steals and 0,9 blocks in 31 minutes in the regular season per game.

Peter Møller (6’4” ’94) -at the pic- is one of the best Danish players in the league to score points. Møller has a good jump shot and can finish with both hands when he attacks the basket. Peter needs to improve his court vision and take some better shots. He only shot 37,2% inside the three point line, however shot 35,7% beyond the arc. The 19 year old PG has a great pull-up jumper, and has improved his defense over the last few years. Møller will travel to the States next season to play in the NCAA division 1, and has potential to become a great scorer in college. In the regular season he averaged 14,6 points, 3,4 rebounds, 3,1 assists and 1,5 steals in 31 minutes per game.

August Haas (6’0” ’97) is the guy who has impressed me most because he played like a real man in his rookie season. Haas has a great mentality and a high basketball IQ, which means he doesn’t go into panic when he gets trapped. The Danish PG is excellent when playing on-ball defense and usually guards the best players in the league. The left-handed point guard is not afraid to play physical and he really works hard when he enters the court. Beside August Haas’ great on-ball defense, he also does a great job in the offensive end of the court. Haas has good 3-point shot, and has some really nice skills when he attacks the basket. August Haas has really shown great potential and could become a future Euroleague player if he continues to develop. In the regular season he averaged 5,1 points in almost 16 minutes per game.

Gabriel Iffe Lundberg (6’3” ’94) is one of the most athletic Danish players in the ´94 generation. Gabriel was a part of the Danish national team in the first round of the 2015 FIBA qualification. However this guy does a great job attacking the basket thanks to his athleticism. The Danish SG can really be hot and score many points, but he can easily be in a slump too. Lundberg is shooting okay beyond the arc, but still needs to improve his jump shot. He does also a great job in the defensive end where he’s capable of staying in front of the offensive player. Lundberg has potential to become a very good player, but needs to travel outside Denmark to develop himself. In the regular season Gabriel Iffe Lundberg averaged 11,1 points, 3,7 rebounds, 1,7 assists and 1,3 steals in 27 minutes per game.

Daniel Mortensen (6’8” ’94) plays for Hørsholm 79’ers in the best Danish league. Daniel has a great shooting touch, and is good spot-up shooter. Mortensen needs to be more consistent with his shot, but he is still young and will learn in the future. The right-handed SF does a great job on both ends of the floor, and has potential to become a great spot-up SF in the future. The most impressive thing with Daniel Mortensen is that he is shooting 97,3% from the FT line. Mortensen has above average athletic ability for a man with his size. In the regular season Daniel Mortensen averaged 8,7 points, 5,1 rebounds and 1,6 assists in 26 minutes per game.
