With the help of Castell - Platja d’Aro town and the Federacion Española de Baloncesto we organized few weeks ago the first Eurohopes Tournament in Girona (Catalunya). We hope this will be the first step of this international meeting point, in this case with four U20 teams (Great Britain, Belarus, Greece and Spain). Due to an air traffic controllers strike in France the GB expedition couldn’t make it for the first day. Big prospects played in the event, like Willy Hernangómez, Sebastian Saiz, Eleftherios Bochoridis, Alberto Diaz, Oriol Pauli and Michalis Kamperidis (from our Top50 1994 ranking), but also Alberto Abalde, Agusti Sans, Jose Nogues and Giorgos Diamantakos from 1995 one.

 

Day 1

Spain 70 Belarus 47

Spain: W.Hernangomez 12 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists; Diaz 9 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists

Belarus: Kazlou 11 points, 9 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 blocks; Rubinshteyn 11 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists

 

Day 2

Greece 70 Belarus 55

Greece: Diamantakos 9 points, 11 rebounds and 1 assist; Bochoridis 15 points, 2 rebounds 2 assists

Belarus: Yeussiyevich 16 points, 2 rebounds and 1 assist; Beliankou 12 points and 3 rebounds

Spain 98 Great Britain 51

Spain: W.Hernangomez 14 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 blocks; Abalde 15 points, 2 rebounds and 3 assists

Great Britain: Spencer 9 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists; Graham 8 points and 4 rebounds

Day 3

Belarus 52 Great Britain 63

Belarus: Rubinshteyn 10 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists; Blinets 7 points, 6 rebounds and 1 assist

Great Britain: Spencer 17 points, 1 rebound and 1 assist; Williams 12 points and 13 rebounds

Greece: Kouzeloglou 22 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists; Diamantakos 11 points and 6 rebounds
