The importance of the S.A.T. - 10/12/2014
Ever year, the number of European prospects moving to the United States to play in the NCAA is increasing. Beyond the basketball skills, the College Athletic Departments are looking for players that can perfectly match the definition of Student-Athlete. Playing in NCAA as Student-Athlete gives the chance to the basketball players to improve their game but also the great opportunity to study for free in the best American Universities thanks to the academic scholarship, allowing their families to save amounts up to five figures per year. Of course, being eligible for a S.A. basketball scholarship in the NCAA is not an easy and rapid process but it takes time and a lot of information. When an international athlete is evaluated for his NCAA eligibility, he must provide specific details about his graduation, core curriculum courses, grade point average from his non United States secondary school and A.C.T/S.A.T scores. The Scholastic Aptitude Test is a globally recognized test to asses the academic level of the international athlete and it is mandatory to start the academic application in all the College in the United States. Usually, the students take the SAT exam during the spring semester of the junior year so they can try again during the fall semester of the senior year of high school. Moreover, once the international player passed the SAT test with a positive grade, he’s eligible for the official visit process that allows the interested University to invite on campus the player and his family in the United States for a two days visit.
