Real Madrid and Matteo Spagnolo ('03) agreed on a three-year contract extension, sources told Eurohopes. The Italian guard, who is with Los Blancos since 2018, will sign his first professional contract and will be sent on loan to Cremona for the next season.

Spagnolo is one of the top prospects in the 2003 generation. He carried Real Madrid U18 to the European crown in the Adidas Next Generation Tournament where he was named to the All-Tournament Team in the Istanbul edition averaging 15.8 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 5.3 assists.

After helping his team to win the ANGT in Valencia, Spagnolo joined the Italy NT training camp where he is fighting for a spot in the roster for the Olympic Qualifier Tournament (29th June - 4th July).

Spagnolo is a versatile point guard who has developed impressive versatility as a shooter. In offense, he is a reliable scorer at all three levels; in defense, he uses well his high motor and great physical tools to stay in front of the opponent.
