Reba Corkovic Tournament - December 2019
By Biel Colominas
Gacic is clearly one of the most promising players of his generation thanks to his combination of size, mobility and instincts. It’s not usual to see a 15-year-old kid standing at 6’11, moving that coordinated and natural on the floor as he is. Despite his size, Gacic game is clearly perimeter orientated, where you can see him putting the ball on the floor and beating opponent bigs with his superior quickness and excellent body control; he should add more skills to his ball-handling ability and improve his left hand though. He still can improve as an athlete, since his leaping ability is not remarkable and he is not strong enough to handle contacts. Gacic usually takes good decisions when driving to the basket, being able to find angles using eurosteps, scoring at the hang time or kicking the ball out for an open shot. He has above average court vision from the top of the key and low post. Gacic can shoot from distance in spot up situations, even though his mechanics still need to improve. His defensive motor and commitment are quite inconsistent, and he shies away of contact when defending close to the basket. He should be tougher and more willing to grab rebounds.
