Season review- May 2025
By Artau Pascual
Looks stronger and more athletic than last season. Tries to be more aggressive going downhill and chase the body of the rim protector. It's easy to block him when he tries to finish with his left hand, more reliable and eager to absorb the contact when he finishes with his right hand. Spot-up shot looks flat and isn't consistent enough. Scoring-oriented ball-handler who needs to operate with a screen or come off a second side action, even though Cal uses him a lot as a ball-handler from a standstill. On the defensive end, he struggles because of hip reactivity and lateral quickness to stay in front of the ball. Can provide some rim protection because of feel and vertical leap off two feet.
Season review- January 2024
By Artau Pascual
Andrej Stojakovic has adjusted to the PAC-12 physicality level and been able to translate his shot creation ability from the very first moment. While he still needs to keep bulking up and he has some ways to go in terms of athleticism and use of his strength, he has established himself as a solid offensive contributor thanks to his poise and footwork to hunt mid-range spots, as well as his willingness to be a positive off-ball player with cuts and spot-up shots.
On the defensive end, Stojakovic puts effort and pride but still needs to find his place. He's not a ball-handler defender and struggles to stay in front of skilled, strong or speedy guards, but he works to avoid getting stacked in screens. As a helpside defender, he's smart and instinctive, but sometimes can be a step slow to follow the scheme still. However, he's not a glaring liability. Reliable and committed defensive rebounder.
General overview- April 2023
Well-framed swingman. Can play on the ball as a shot creator for himself or slide to a finisher role if he plays alongside other ball-handlers. Creates easy looks for himself: his shot off one or two dribbles is very reliable in both mid-range or three-point area, and he looks solid driving and getting to the rim. He still has room for improvement when it comes to contact absorption, but his touch and coordination suggest he'll be able to find the angles he wants at the next level. On the defensive end, he needs to lower his center of gravity and increase his feet and hand activity to take care of ball-handlers, but he has the tools to be a decent team defender.
