PROFILE

Eurocamp Treviso - June 2026
By Albert Juncà

Played in a completely different role than at Cedevita. In this stage, Houindo acted more as a pure center, playing off the ball and setting screens. Low overall impact throughout the tournament. Most of his actions came from popping after screens and trying to gain space off the dribble. He does not yet have enough skill to operate against similar physical profiles. He should improve his angles when diving to gain the space he cannot create off the dribble. Defensively, he shows correct positioning on the court, staying active in the gaps. Guarding the ball, he slides correctly for his size, but struggles when closing out on guards.

ANGE Final Stage: Athens - May 2026
By Albert Juncà

Main offensive reference on the team. During his youth career, the French big man stood out thanks to his athleticism and off-ball movement, being able to play above the rim consistently. Now, his game looks quite different, with a significant increase in face-up situations as a ball-handler, although his decision-making and shot selection are still questionable. The biggest concern is that many of these actions are difficult to translate to higher levels. While this role may help him improve his skill set with the ball, right now he bases too much of his game around these situations. Shooting-wise, despite his inconsistency and poor shot selection, he is improving and gaining fluidity rising up off the dribble. In the future, this fluidity could translate well into pick-and-pop or short-roll situations. Defensively, he has the tools to fit into multiple schemes, but in drop coverages he finds the right balance between avoiding foul trouble and protecting the rim with his body and verticality.

ANGE Stage 1: Ulm - February 2026
By Albert Juncà

Square-framed and with above-average athleticism for this French big. Offensively, he is the first option on his team and has the ball in his hands for a big amount of seconds every possession. He has increased his offensive tools, showing more solid handles to operate from the perimeter and a much better release off the dribble, especially from the mid-range. From the deep he has also improved his release, mainly from frontal spots. In the paint, he plays tough and uses his body to absorb contact and finish. Defensively, he is tough. He can switch onto forwards on the perimeter, controlling the distance and directing them to his comfort zone. Not a great shot blocker, but he changes many shots using his vertical leap and presence coming from the weak side.

FIBA U18 European Championship- August 2025
By Artau Pascual

Best athleticism flashes in the event. Outstanding verticality. Evolving into a full-time 5. Most of his production comes in open floor situations: he has very high motor, excellent straight-line speed, and shows a great leap  off either one or two feet. His swing skill will be shooting; he can produce in post-up situations relying on strength and power, but the best of him comes in face-up situations where he can use his speed and straight-line driving ability. Shot didn’t click for the entire tournament—he shot really well in Treviso, early June. Defensively, he’s a solid shot-blocker coming from the weakside than as a positional rim protector. A bit stiff on the hips: needs to improve his lateral quickness to be an NBA-level switchy center.

ANGE Abu Dhabi- May 2025
By Artau Pascual

Strong, natural frame with some margin to add muscle and strength. Broad shoulders, fine wingspan, and balanced lower body. Played both PF and C spots during the event, and showed up as the most skilled frontcourt player INSEP had. While in the Summer he was mainly a rim-running, high motor big, in Abu Dhabi he displayed some qualities pushing the pace in transition and attacking with the ball in space. Mixed bag of results. In halfcourt offense, despite some wild shots, he was able to hit some looks from the mid-range and looked eager to let it fly from the three-point line. Needs to keep working on his passing ability, since he’s a bit sloppy in certain situations or doesn’t read well enough the flow of the offense. Defensively, Houindo did well as a switch big: he’s able to stay in front of small guards who are not elite in terms of explosiveness or handles and does a good job forcing late, long-range, contested shots. Fine footspeed and lateral quickness. Poor effort at rotating and closing out: needs to improve his awareness off-ball.

ANGT Belgrade - March 2025
By Luka Drca

He’s only 16, with a strong, muscular, and long frame. Powerful and athletic, playing with a
high motor. He’s even stronger now compared to the Summer, and his game is evolving. His
main scoring comes from transition, pick&roll plays, and powerful dunks. He’s also trying to
handle the ball more, attacking closeouts with straight-line drives and finishing through
contact. He plays with physicality and has a solid right-hand hook. He’s working on his
shooting; his mid-range spot-up jumper is consistent, but his three-point shooting needs
improvement. A solid rebounder and a physical defender, with some rim protection.

FIBA U16 European Championship- August 2024

In the middle of the way between the 4 and the 5. Dimensions belong to the 4 spot, but his skillset isn’t enough to be a PF at this point. Broad shoulders, fine athleticism. He’s mobile and challenges the boards aggressively. Plays with a high motor and makes an impact all over the floor. Shows ability to shoot the ball from the mid-range, but he’s not consistent at it yet. Tendency to go right in the post. Good offensive rebounder because of instincts, positioning and energy. Struggles to finish through contact despite his frame and can be turnover prone. On the defensive end, he’s a fine shot-blocker with good defensive qualities like lateral quickness.

ANGT Berlin- May 2024
By Artau Pascual

Impressive body development over the last months. Unsure if he will be a five at the highest level because it doesn’t look like he should grow much more, but he has the toughness, energy, and quickness to be a solid small-ball five at the current level. Displays physicality and sets the tone when he initiates contacts. His mid-range shot is OK and he should be able to expand his range to behind the three-point line. Good at running the floor and at cutting. A little chaotic on the defensive end because he is unaware of where the ball is too often and just follows his man, but he’s already at the physical level required to play U18.

NBA Academy Games France- January 2024
By Pietro Cristofori

High motor big-man. Bad attitude. I don't think he will grow more. Strong body overall. Looks almost fat. Despite not being super defined muscularly, he displays solid explosiveness and power. Pick&pop threat. OK touch all around. Above-average passer. His advanced skillset combined with his size and IQ make him an NBA prospect.

General overview- April 2023

Good size to do multiple frontcourt positions, needs to work on his athleticism to make sure of what player he'll be able to be and what he'll do with the ball. Can drive in straight lines, but he's good only in straight lines. Struggles to turn hips and shift directions, needs to put up work on his coordination and motor. Gets lost on defense when he's not close to the rim.
