PROFILE

ANGE Abu Dhabi- May 2025
By Artau Pascual

Underwhelming performance. He’s less mobile and fluid than before the injury he sustained a year ago, and he has lost a bit of athleticism. Not as vertical as he seemed to be some time ago. Currently, he projects as a stretch frontcourt player whose main assignment is stationary shooting, but he needs to improve his percentages to excel in this role. Tries to put the ball on the floor and attack in a straight line or coming off screens, but the process and results aren’t consistent at all. Defensively, he struggles to stay in front of forwards who want to get past him off the dribble and has lost some footspeed that made him a good weakside element back in the days.

BWB Global Camp - February 2025
By Pietro Cristofori

One of the most talented forwards Lithuania has produced in recent years, Daubaris missed the entire 2023-24 season due to an ACL injury, which also forced him to sit out the 2024 U17 World Cup. He returned from the injury with a stronger and more muscular frame. Despite this, he has maintained his solid explosiveness and leaping ability (26.75" standing vertical at BWB official tests). Daubaris has always been more explosive than quick. His upper body is now much more defined, and his proportions look good, but he still seems to be adjusting to his new weight, as he doesn’t look as mobile or fluid as he was before the injury.
Daubaris fits the profile of a modern 4-man in the EuroLeague. Standing at 6'9.75" with solid athleticism for the level, he easily projects as a player at that level from a physical standpoint. His go-to skill will be his three-point shooting. Right now, his shooting mechanics look different compared to before the injury, but he still needs to adjust to his new body and strength. His shooting efficiency has not quite come along yet (1/17 3FG at ANGE Ulm and some inconsistency in San Francisco), but this will improve over time, as his ball spin and wrist strength are excellent. It’s just a matter of regaining confidence and rhythm. His on-ball skill is going under the radar at the moment, since he hasn't been involved in any of those sets as of lately neither with Zalgiris Kaunas or in San Francisco, but Daubaris has some nice fluid moves when it comes to attacking the rim face-up. As mentioned earlier, he has lost some quickness due to the added weight following his injury, which is why his playstyle has been different lately. Mentally, it seems like he has recovered well from the injury. He plays smart and tough, and doesn’t require the ball in his hands to be effective. On the defensive end, he's solid, reads the game well, and acts as a legitimate rim protector at every European level.
Down the line, Daubaris has the tools to become a high European level player over the next decade. He has a projectable elite skill (shooting), athleticism and motor are solid, he's smart and fits in multiple scenarios at the 4.

ANGE Ulm - February 2025
By Pietro Cristofori

Daubaris is a PF that is made for high European level. Standing at 6'9, has legit size and athleticism to play the position. He returned from last season's ACL injury with some more kilos and more muscles. After a period where he had to get used to high level, he's now back ready to contribute at top level. Now he has a well-defined frame that in some years will be ready to withstand high European level. Wide shoulders and positive wingspan. Rarely loses the focus on the game. Can shoot from deep at high volume. Although, he struggled a lot in Ulm, shooting 1/17 from deep during the event: percentages that don't match with the 32% kept during the season. Not fluid enough to be considered an interior creator at the next level. Doesn't have burst and mobility to do that. Good feel for blocks and goes hard to rebound. Shooting big is the position that suits him best at the next level.

Torneig L'Hospitalet- December 2024
By Artau Pascual

One of the most exciting prospects in the event. Projects as a stretch frontcourt player. At this point, he can fill both 4 and 5 spots, but probably he makes more sense as a 4 given his mobility and the weakside rim protection he provides. Plays at a surprising level of effort and hustle for a player who has gone through lower body injuries over an entire year: puts his body on the line, draws fouls, and uses his vertical leap against drives. Needs to add some lower body strength: seems like he has a little arch and his right leg less muscular than the left one. Uses his 3PT shooting gravity to blow by his defenders and get to the rim: there, he finishes strong and uses the contact in his favor. Good finisher in transition also.

Memorial Pascual Chulià- September 2024
By Artau Pascual

After spending the 2023/24 season out due to a long lower-body injury, Daubaris reappeared in Torrent. He looked a little heavier than last year, but the essence of his game remains the same: his shooting range and form are outstanding for a player of his size, and his mobility in face-up situations is a difference-maker at the current level. Finishing through contact has some ways to go still. Put effort at running the floor and tried to match up with more physical opponents, putting his body on the line. Needs to work on his lateral quickness and fix his stance against closeouts.

FIBA U16 European Championship- August 2023

Skilled and dynamic stretch forward. Still has plenty of margin to add strength to his frame, but it will be key to maintain as well as possible his smoothness and fluidity. He can put the ball on the floor and go downhill at an excellent level, and he’s crafty enough to change directions in tight spaces better than most of the players of his size. Can shoot off movement from the three-point line too: provides versatility. His shooting release is at a high point, but he can speed it up. Opens a lot the angle of his left elbow due to size. On defense he’s caught too often in a high stance and struggles to stay in front of forwards. Will need to lower his center of gravity and also gain more functional strength, since opponents move him easily with the shoulder.
