Average athlete for European standards. Steinbach makes a great use of his body in the paint. Outstanding rebounder who embraces contact and possesses good fundamentals to box out and secure the boards.

On the offensive end, Steinbach had a great fit with the German ball-handlers. He didn’t require getting playmaking duties, and he felt comfortable acting as a play-finishing big. His touch isn’t great, and he’s more functional than flashy, but somehow he always ends up finding a good position and being efficient in the restricted area. Not especially speedy or crafty, but he’s a fine roller. Very limited contribution as a floor spacer, but he can set high screens. Fills the lanes in transitions and runs the floor with OK motor and mobility.

On the defensive end, Steinbach plays hard and can have an impact in different pick&roll coverages. He’s not quick and mobile enough to be a go-to switch defender, but he makes a good use of his length and size. As a hard hedge defender, he can put pressure on the ball-handler and go back if the help system is on time. The other bigs had a hard time finishing above him because he lowers his center of gravity and takes advantage of his standing reach and balance.
