Competitive mindset and leader of his team. Above-average positional size for a guard, with plenty of room to add muscle to his frame. He has the mindset to be a point guard. Offensively, he has elite court vision, creating advantages and finding open teammates easily. Good spot-up shooter. He is able to finish over defenders, especially when driving to his left. When attacking the rim, he combines short and long strides depending on the situation, finding his own pace on every penetration. He shows advanced reads and makes few mistakes considering the risks he assumes. He controls the momentum and timing of pick-and-roll actions and doesn’t like to play rushed. He likes to use the snake dribble against non-aggressive coverages. He constantly analyzes what the game demands from him and adapts accordingly, learning during the game how to attack aggressive coverages, when to act as a cutter, or when to crash the offensive glass. Defensively, he is more committed than one might expect, despite his lateral quickness still not being competitive at a high level. Conceptually, he is really good, making no mistakes when playing in X-out situations or as the last defender. His body language is great. A pure competitor.

ANGE Stage 2: Abu Dhabi - March 2026

Talented lefty wing with big margin to grow and develop his body by adding muscle. Above-average coordination and skillset for a player of his size. His undeveloped frame could be a handicap when playing through contact, but he has the tools to solve situations by reading the defense and executing. He relocates himself very well after passing the ball and has a quick and clean release coming off screens, setting his feet and squaring quickly. On defense, he has high hips and struggles to guard smaller guards, getting low and turning his hips effectively. He makes great use of his length to cover space on the perimeter, staying active in the gaps.

U16 European Championship - August 2025

One of the top prospects in the event, Houska played as a wing handler for his team. He has a lanky body with decent shoulders. A late bloomer, he has grown 5–6 cm over the past year. By the end of his maturity, he is expected to reach 6'7" or taller. Fluid ball-handler, can play with both hands. Natural shooter and capable passer. NBA potential. HM player. Reminds me of younger Vit Krejci.

U16 Torneo Villa de Iscar 2024 - December 2024

Marek Houska is son of former player Jakub Houska. He’s a late-bloomer and has added several inches over the last years. It looks like he has more way to go still. Lanky frame, shoulders look decent, arms are long, and this suggests that he might grow up to 6’6. Guard skillset, scores very difficult shots in traffic and playing through contact, and that’s pretty impressive given physical development stage and low strength. Can definitely shoot, growing up this was his main skill. Shooting stroke is smooth and fluid. Although, now it looks like he’s bringing all his skillset to a solid level. He knows how to play: makes passes with the right tempo and timing. He can develop into a reliable handler at high European level. Depending on his physical development, he might turn into a skilled, sized handler wing. It doesn’t look like he plays at high tempo, he’s good at managing it.
