Above-average athlete for a big man, combining length and an impressive vertical leap to make a major impact on both ends of the floor. Offensively, he shows interesting off-ball reads to find the right angles in the paint to finish, not only dunking but also displaying improved touch with his right hand. Excellent jumping timing allows him to play above the rim consistently on alley-oops and put-backs. Shooting-wise, he is still developing his perimeter release, taking spot-up shots with confidence and showing better arc on his attempts. Defensively, he looks comfortable executing different pick-and-roll coverages, either coming out aggressively using his quickness and length to impact the ball or playing in drop coverage and covering ground exceptionally well. His quick-twitch athleticism allows him to repeat multiple efforts in the paint and alter several shots in the same possession.

ANGE Stage 3: Bologna - March 2026

During this stage, we have seen a different impact from Barcelona's center. On the offensive end, Dabone displays unusual maturity with the ball in his hands, showing interesting flashes passing from the top of the key or controlling the tempo of his team's offense. Off the ball, his broad skill set stands out, filling the lanes in transition very quickly, punishing slower defenders, or setting screens and finding the correct angle to finish above the rim. Shooting the ball, he is still improving his mechanics; he still shoots very flat, but the fluidity of his motion is good and promising. Defensively, his length and vertical leap make him a great rim protector, coming from the weak side. In pick-and-roll coverages, he is able to defend in multiple ways, being aggressive to impact the ball and recover, or getting low in drop coverage and covering ground very well.

Above-average athleticism for this long big, who shows impressive mobility and coordination for his size and position. Offensively, his off-ball movement combined with his vertical leap allows him to play above the rim and finish most situations with dunks, especially in transition or fast breaks. He shows great rebounding instincts, reading the trajectory of the ball to attack the offensive glass and score on putbacks. In half-court situations, Dabone is developing his ball-handling skills, but he can already use his body and length to gain an advantage when attacking slower defenders and getting into the paint to finish. From deep, his shooting release is fluid. Defensively, his athleticism and length help camouflage some tactical weaknesses. His rim-protection instincts are impressive, rotating from the weak side to block or alter shots. However, he often falls for fakes, giving opponents easier scoring opportunities. In pick-and-roll defense, he plays with a low center of gravity, which allows him to be effective in aggressive schemes, using his arms to disrupt ball handlers and deflect passes before recovering to the dive man

Dabone was the player with the biggest athletic upside in the entire event. The 2011-born big possesses a unique blend of mobility, flexibility, speed and leap, and there are many indicators that he’s still growing. That’s the second ANGT Finals he’s been part of at 13 years old.

Dabone is a wild player at this point. He’s very bouncy and finds solutions that the other players can’t execute. In this event, he’s felt at his best cutting from the baseline, in general, when playing alongside another big, and attacking the offensive glass from the 45-degree mark. Dabone is excellent at follow-up actions, and his offensive rebounding instincts combine perfectly with his feel for where the ball will fall. Dabone’s vertical leap and straight-line speed, as well as his ability at repeating efforts, give him an excellent floor for the current level. In this event, we also saw a volume increase in his 3PT shooting. There are many ways to go in this area: his lower-body is conditioned because of his knee valgus, typical in players that are still growing, and his upper-body mechanics look different all the time. He shoots the ball with the palm of his hand and each miss is different, but he shows willingness to get his shots up and has plenty of margin to work in it. Dabone did also put the ball on the floor a bit more than usual in this event: his strides are very long, and he gets past his defender effortlessly. He needs to address his handles, which are high and not as tight as they should, but there have already been some bright spots in this area already.

Defensively, Dabone’s athleticism and size make it up for the rest of his weaknesses. He has poor tactical awareness and positional sense as of right now, and he jumps every time, which isn’t sustainable for the upcoming levels. In ball-screen actions, he’s often caught out of position and ends giving up unnecessary contacts and fouls. On the other hand, even though he does also need to address those interpretation weaknesses as a helpside rim protector, he’s already able to have an impact packing the rim because of his verticality and speed in non-contact situations.

Player with highest ceiling in the event, and the most awaited one. Played four years up. Sat in the first two games due to injury. Didn't have big minutes in the other two either. Shoulders are legit, back already at a decent level of development. Wingspan is solid. Lower body is thin: thin calves and ankles guarantee good angles and mobility. Still at an early stage when it comes to understand the game: not efficient, it looks like he doesn't know what to do on the floor. Played minutes at the 4 alongside Kone or Keita. Looks comfortable there: even without craftiness he can play that position at this level thanks to physical and athletic tools. Knocked down a three with confidence. Ball goes out well, nice spin, I think he can even add a pull-up shot in the future. 

Dabone is a clear NBA prospect and probably the kid with the highest hype ever at age 14. Talent is off the charts. I think that in best case scenario he will be a forward that brings impressive athleticism to the table. What concerns me about Dabone is his attitude on the floor: it looks like he doesn't play with fire. At times it looks like he doesn't know why he's on the floor. Not a bad body language, but I just can't see the will to play.
